Rose Tavern, the signature restaurant at the newly opened Lake House on Canandaigua, draws its inspiration from the people, land, and vibrant local communities that define the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.

The New American restaurant serves a seasonal, rustic menu inspired by local ingredients and classic cooking techniques. With a deep commitment to community and sustainability, Rose Tavern works closely with local growers and purveyors to source the best ingredients for a menu that celebrates the unspoiled bounty and beauty of the Finger Lakes.   

Centered around a wood-fired hearth, the menu includes comforting dishes such as Ricotta Toast, Off-the-Hearth Chicken, and Pork Ribeye (dinner); Wild Greens Salad, Fire-Smoked Salmon, and Brisket Burger with House Pickles (lunch); and Lake Country Breakfast with House-Made Butter and Preserves, Buttermilk Pancakes with Local Maple Syrup, and Breakfast Sandwich with Farm-Fresh Egg (breakfast). 

The warm and welcoming dining room, designed by acclaimed Brooklyn-based Studio Tack, celebrates its Upstate New York setting with navy blue leather banquettes, rich wood detailing and large wrap-around windows with views of the lake. The sounds and smells from the open kitchen and the large, bustling bar create a convivial atmosphere that extends onto the seated screened-in porch.  

At its heart, Rose Tavern is a gathering place for the community as well as guests of The Lake House. It’s a restaurant that welcomes afternoon cocktails, family gatherings, and impromptu lunches with old friends. Our private dining room is the perfect setting for intimate dinners.  And no visit to Rose Tavern is complete without a taste of the owners' famous dessert—the Sands family's cherished chocolate bundt cake.  Family-owned and community-driven, Rose Tavern is a new dining destination in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
